Decathlon new retail tenant in Alexandrium Megastores in Rotterdam

CBRE Global Investors and the French sports retail chain Decathlon have entered into a lease agreement for 1,575 sq. m. of retail space in Rotterdam’s Alexandrium Megastores. The new shop is slated for an autumn opening. This will be the fourteenth location in the Netherlands for the global market leader in sports equipment. It will also be the second Decathlon location in Rotterdam, the first being in the city centre on Coolsingel.

Alexandrium Megastores is a shopping boulevard featuring sixteen large branches of well-known chain shops. The shops offer a wide range of consumer products, such as household items, electronics, toys, clothing and sporting goods. The assortment of goods on offer is broader and more exclusive than in other large shopping centres.

Alexandrium Megastores, together with the Alexandrium Shopping Center and the Woonmall home furnishings mall, make up the Alexandrium shopping area. Alexandrium Megastores is an investment of CBRE Dutch Retail Fund, a non-listed real estate fund of CBRE Global Investors.

The parties have made mutual sustainability agreements, meaning the rental fits perfectly in the Environment, Social, Governance strategy (ESG) of the most sustainable real estate fund in the Netherlands.

CBRE represented the lessor, CBRE Global Investors, in this transaction.
