Health an important trend in office market

Healthy Offices

CBRE, the world's largest real estate consultancy firm for commercial property, considers "health" an important trend in the office market. The real estate advisor expects that an increasing number of office owners and lessees will invest in a working environment where staff feel good and can work in healthy conditions. According to CBRE, healthy offices will be a prominent feature in the future. They not only promote staff wellbeing, but also boost labour productivity.

Beyond the New Way of Working

CBRE thinks that "the New Way of Working" forms a good basis, but it believes that the developments in current society, with its increased emphasis on health and a good work/life balance, asks for further steps to be taken. In healthy buildings the focus is on staff needs, such as physical and psychological needs, rather than the (attractiveness of) the building itself. These will increasingly form the decisive factor for the development and layout of offices.

CBRE Healthy Offices

In response to current market developments, CBRE will launch "CBRE Healthy Offices" in the autumn. Wouter Oosting, Senior Director Workplace Strategies & Design, says about this: "In association with Delos we are obtaining WELL certificates. We are also currently developing an improved integral approach and products that can be used to transform existing and new offices into healthy or healthier buildings."

"Attractive offices will increasingly be healthy offices. A strong company is based on successful people. For people to perform at their best, they have to be happy in their skin and be able to work in a healthy environment that makes a positive contribution to the quality of life," explains Oosting.
