Kalmar rents office space in World Port Center in Rotterdam

On 1 May 2018, Kalmar Netherlands opened its new offices at the World Port Center in Rotterdam. The company signed a lease agreement with World Port Center Propco BV for approximately 1,400 sq. m. of office space and fifty parking spaces. Kalmar offers solutions and services for cargo handling at ports, terminals, in distribution centres and for heavy industry.

The World Port Center was designed by Sir Norman Foster and is one of the most striking buildings in Rotterdam, located at Wilhelminapier in the Kop van Zuid area. The building has approximately 35,500 sq. m. of office space, spread over 32 floors, and an underground car park with approximately 500 parking spaces. Because of its location at the head of Wilhelminapier right next to Hotel New York, the office building offers a breathtaking view of the Rotterdam skyline.

The building has recently been acquired by World Port Center Propco B.V. UniforeDMC handles Asset Management and worked together with the Port of Rotterdam Authority in assisting Kalmar in their decision to move to the World Port Center. The flexibility and high-quality facilities played a major role in this successful transaction.

This transaction is characteristic for the owner’s new strategy to attract more companies with a connection to the Port of Rotterdam.

CBRE advised Kalmar Netherlands in this transaction. JLL worked closely with De Mik Bedrijfshuisvesting to advise the landlord in this transaction. The Port of Rotterdam Authority was represented by Solved.
