SPAR city opens store next to Vondelpark

Spar, the everyday convenience store, has recently opened a new SPAR city at Byzantium, a mixed-use complex at Museumkwartier in Amsterdam. The convenience store has agreed a long-term lease for 200 sq. m. of retail space at Stadhouderskade 24B in Amsterdam.

The retail outlet is located in a prominent location between Vondelpark and Leidseplein and is expected to benefit from the location’s traffic flows. The opening is part of the SPAR expansion strategy and is now the country’s 49th city store. City stores are characterised by their focus on convenience and fresh daily products, and are operated by local entrepreneurs.
