Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance sells Weesperstaete building in Amsterdam

Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance has sold the Weesperstaete building in Amsterdam on behalf of the Achmea Dutch Office Fund.

This office building at Weesperplein 6-8 has a total lettable floor area of 12,991 sq. m. plus 40 parking spaces in the underground car park. Weesperstaete has been leased to the City of Amsterdam on a long-term lease. The adjacent retail unit at Sarphatistraat 65-67, which has been leased to a local retailer, is also included in the sale.

Weesperstaete is a modern office building in the centre of Amsterdam. The building, which dates from 1970, has undergone several renovations. The lettable area is divided into a basement space and the ground floor, above which there are eight office floors. Weesperstaete is located directly on Weesperplein, which forms the intersection of Wibautstraat and Weesperstraat. This area has a varied mix of modern office buildings, retail outlets and restaurants.

Weesperplein is a dynamic area, featuring numerous developments. For example, the Hyatt Regency hotel on Sarphatistraat recently opened its doors, and the Diamond Exchange, which is located right next to Weesperstaete, is currently undergoing a major renovation.

The vendor, Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance, which acted on behalf of the Achmea Dutch Office Fund, engaged CBRE as its commercial consultant. Nauta Dutilh advised the vendor on legal matters.
