Allbirds opens flagship store at Amsterdam’s prime 9 straatjes location

American footwear label Allbirds is opening a flagship store at Hartenstraat 15 in Amsterdam. It will be the first store in the Netherlands to be opened by the brand, which already has shops in New York, London, Berlin and Beijing.

Allbirds produces washable footwear, made from special woollen fabric developed by founders Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger. The brand will let the property in Amsterdam’s exclusive 9 straatjes (9 streets) district on a long-term lease from landlord Blackstone. This involves retail accommodation on the ground floor, complete with mezzanine area and a basement for storage purposes. The store will be given a complete makeover to reflect the Allbirds concept.

B&O Retail and Brickstone Retail represented the landlord Blackstone in this transaction. Allbirds was advised by CBRE.
