- One of the Most Sustainable Buildings in Continental Europe -

Deka Immobilien Global has appointed CBRE, the global real estate advisor, to manage The Edge, a new office building that is currently under construction at the Zuidas in Amsterdam.

The Edge is a 36,000 sq m property which will become home to leading (international) brands Deloitte and AKD upon its completion in November 2014. CBRE will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the building and coordinate with the building’s occupiers.

The Edge is characterized by its sustainable credentials including energy efficiency, innovative LED systems and a design which sets new standards for user comfort. As a result, it has been awarded a BREEAM-NL 'Outstanding' certificate and upon completion will be one of the most sustainable buildings in continental Europe.
The Edge will be the latest addition to CBRE’s ‘Premier Properties’ programme, which already includes global buildings such as the Gherkin and The Shanghai and Iberdrola Towers constituting c.20 million sq m in total. These assets, all exceptional in terms of size, design and quality, benefit from a service designed to enhance the value and safeguard the respective brand.

Robert Lodder, Executive Director Asset Services at CBRE, commented: “We are incredibly excited to have been appointed to manage a first-class building like The Edge. Our team will provide a full range of property management services such as technical, financial and commercial management. Our priority is to service the new owner and focus on the needs of the occupiers to ensure the quality of the building is utilised to its full potential.”
