Laura Seckel is new Head of Healthcare at CBRE

CBRE’s healthcare real estate team welcomes two new members

Laura Seckel has been appointed as the new sector head of healthcare real estate at CBRE, as of 1 January. Tom Fasten has also joined the team as a Senior Consultant. These additions mean the team is now at full strength.

With her extensive background in healthcare, Laura Seckel has a wealth of relevant experience. She previously worked as a senior consultant and programme manager for strategy & concept development with various organisations in elderly care, care for the disabled and mental healthcare, providing advice and guidance on strategic and tactical real estate issues. She has worked at AAG and Wooninc, among others.

Senior Consultant Tom Fasten also brings a great deal of valuable experience to the team. For the past nine years, he worked for a large healthcare organisation in the cure sector, where he was responsible for strategic real estate projects and the purchase and rental of real estate, among other things.

“We are incredibly pleased that Laura will be heading up the healthcare real estate team,” said Pieter Frederix, Executive Director at CBRE. “With the arrival of Laura and Tom, with their wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare market, we are hitting the ground running this year.”

Laura Seckel, CBRE’s new Head of Healthcare: “I studied CBRE’s consultancy services in great detail coming into the new year and over the last few days. I can only say that I am really looking forward to rolling up my sleeves alongside the rest of the team, and I am sure that we will achieve great results with all our knowledge and experience in healthcare.”

These new additions bring the total number of team members to nine, all working full-time on healthcare real estate. That includes a transaction team headed by Jan Steinebach, a consultancy team headed by Laura Seckel and a valuation team headed by Willem Rodermond and Roderick Smorenburg. This varied expertise is highly valuable to clients in healthcare, as it helps them to maximise financial returns on their real estate portfolio, as well as social returns. The team provides day-to-day services to a wide range of healthcare institutions, housing corporations, investors and developers in the Netherlands.
