Marco Clarijs appointed head of CBRE’s MidCap team
From 1 January, Marco Clarijs will be in charge of the national MidCap team for CBRE Netherlands. In addition to his new position, he will continue to be responsible for the CBRE offices in Rotterdam.
With the addition of Marco Clarijs, the team now consists of six persons focusing on the MidCap market from the Capital Markets team. Midcap focuses on investments in the mid-price range of the commercial and residential real estate markets up to approximately € 20 million. These investments are characterised by a local profile and are mainly made by medium-sized professional or private investors, often entrepreneurs with a background in the SME sector. In recent years this group has become more and more visible and larger. Earlier this year Desiree Wolters was added to the MidCap team. She focuses on the South Holland region.
“I look forward to expanding our business with the MidCap team in this new role. Due to the coronavirus crisis, plenty of space has become available in this segment. With our integrated services we can provide valuable advice to this group of investors too,” says Marco Clarijs.
Bart Verhelst, Executive Director Capital Markets: “The appointment of Marco shows how much we value this segment of the investment market. This market continues to grow. Marco brings a lot of experience as director of our office in Rotterdam and with this powerful team we do expect to be even more explicitly present within this segment.”
