Hästens leases retail property at De Meent in Rotterdam

Swedish bed brand Hästens has signed a long-term lease for a 230 square meters of retail outlet at De Meent 32-34A in Rotterdam. This new branch is the luxury bed brand’s first step towards expansion in the Netherlands.

De Meent is located in the centre of Rotterdam and is the trendiest shopping street in the city. It enjoys a leading reputation as a lifestyle street, with a variety of boutiques and food and drink outlets.

The unit’s previous tenant was Kijkshop. Hästens’ arrival signals the first step in the complete redesign and upgrade of the retail space. The landlord plans to give the property an entirely new façade. Hästens will take responsibility for the remodelling and redecorating of the interior, in line with its own distinctive ‘Hästens formula’.

“It was high time for us to return to Rotterdam,” says Freek Fidder, manager of Hästens Store Rotterdam. “We are delighted with this retail space in a stunning property on De Meent, where we can continue to grow the Hästens brand in the Netherlands.”

CBRE advised the landlord, a private investor, on this transaction. The real estate advisor worked closely with New Holland Development. At present, there are three other retail units available in the building, each with a different floor area. For more information, please contact CBRE.
