Snipes opens new retail outlet at Herestraat Groningen

Sneaker and streetwear chain Snipes will soon open a new retail outlet at Herestraat 67 in Groningen. The company has recently signed a lease agreement with landlord IEF Services for approximately 950 sq. m. of retail space, spread across the ground floor and first and second floors of the property.

Since opening its first retail outlet in Germany in 1998, Snipes has been one of the top sneaker and streetwear chains in Europe. The company has continued to grow and now has retail outlets all over Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, France, Portugal, Italy and the Netherlands. Snipes offers the latest in the area of sneakers, apparel, headwear and accessories of brands such as Nike, Adidas, Jordan, Vans, Puma and Asics Tiger and is often present at numerous events and festivals across Europe.

“Snipes was looking for a top location in Groningen, explains Gareth Tsang, Associate Director of Retail at CBRE. “Herestraat 67 became available due to River Island’s sudden departure and IEF was quickly able to find a new purpose for the property. The transaction also fulfilled one of Snipes’ ambitions. After all, Herestraat is Groningen’s most important shopping street.”

The new Snipes retail outlet in the city of Groningen is slated for an autumn opening. The property is currently undergoing a full renovation to ensure that the interior fits in with the Snipes concept.
